This pledge matters because:

• Glyphosate is proven to be harmful to wildlife and implicated in various human diseases.

• Scientific evidence justifies banning glyphosate. The primary scientific study international regulators used to approve this synthetic chemical, has been retracted due to fraud. (Glyphosate is the active ingredient in widely-used Roundup and many other herbicides.)

• Treatment is expensive – a cost of about £132,000/ year in Greenwich to an outside contractor. The current contract ends 28th February 2027.

• Thoughtful nuanced management could involve residents and a Conservation Unit.
